I had to salvage the audio from A6700!
Sometimes, the wilderness has other plans! I spent hours packing up the bike, riding to the top of the hill, and setting up for a solid two-hour ambient recording. Or, at least, that’s what I thought I did.
A hard lesson learned: the Tascam X8 won't actually start recording if you press the record button whilst tweaking a microphone's settings.
Thankfully, all was not lost. The Sony A6700 captured the backup audio. Whilst it definitely isn't the lush, pristine quality you'd get from the Clippy mics and the Tascam preamps, the visual atmosphere was simply too good to bin. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the view!
