Istanbul Balcony Sounds: 3-Hour Urban Ambient Recording

Location: Istanbul, Turkey
Format: Audio-only (Single Frame Photo)
Duration: 3 Hours
During a recent stay in Istanbul, I set up the recording rig (Tascam Portacapture X8 + Clippy pair) on a second-floor balcony to capture the natural acoustic environment of the city.
Rather than facing the main roads, the balcony sits over a quiet inner courtyard surrounded by apartment blocks. This position softens the direct street traffic while creating a rich, echoing space for neighbourhood sounds. Over the three hours, the audio captures the characteristic blend of local urban life, crow calls, typical songbirds, distant sirens, and the resonant call to prayer echoing across the rooftops.
This track is ideal for background focus, studying, or sleeping. You can listen to the full 3-hour session on YouTube now.

I had to salvage the audio from A6700!
